Turn on a Lamp when Motion is Detected With Harmony

If you have Dome’s On/Off Plug-In Switch, Motion Detector, and a Harmony Hub with a Hub Extender you can automatically turn on a lamp connected to the On/Off Plug-In Switch if motion is detected. Follow the steps below to automatically illuminate your life with the On/Off Plug-In Switch. If you haven't set up your devices yet check out the following articles before you start automating:

1. Open your Harmony app, under the Activities tab press Edit Activities

2. Press Add Activity

3. Press Add your own Activity

4. Set a name (I picked 'Magic Lamp') and an icon, then press the arrow >

5. Select the Dome On/Off Plug In Switch then press the arrow >

6. On the next two screens press the arrow > in the corner

7. Select the Dome On/Off Plug In Switch and set the switch to ON, then press the arrow >

8. Press the arrow >

9. Press the arrow >

10. Press Edit Activities then tap your Magic Lamp

11. Press Sensor Triggers and select the Dome Motion Sensor in the top group

12. Choose Detected Motion and press Save

13. Press the arrow > in the upper right hand corner

14. Press the X

15. Your On/Off Plug In Switch will now automatically turn on when motion is detected
