All features of Dome's Motion Detector are available within HomeSeer. Please make sure your Z-Wave plug-in is up to date before continuing (at least version 3.0.1.110). See Figure 1 for a screenshot of how the the Z-Wave log should appear after successful inclusion - if you see any errors, see this article about including battery powered devices into HomeSeer.
After successful inclusion, the motion status (when motion is detected or cleared) can be used as an event trigger or condition. The ambient light levels are also accessible as either triggers or conditions. See Figure 2 to see how the Motion Detector and all associated virtual devices will appear in the home page.
In Figure 3, an event is triggered when the motion detector senses motion. This can, for example, turn on a light when the room is occupied.
In Figure 4, an event is triggered when the motion detector senses motion, but only if the ambient light levels are below 50 lux. This can, for example, turn on a light when motion is detected, but only if it is dark.
In Figure 5, an event is triggered when the ambient light level drops below a certain level. Use this to automatically turn on a light when it gets dark.
In Figure 6, an event is triggered if the Motion Detector has been idle for 20 minutes. Use this to automatically turn off lights and other electronics if a room is vacant for extended periods.
